Financial Institute establishment: It was established pursuant to decision of Ministry of High Education No.120 date 04/04/1996, according to decision of Supreme Council for Intermediate Institutes No.1/33 date 03/03/1996. The Institute is administratively subordinated to Ministry of finance and scientifically to Ministry of High Education- Supreme Council for Intermediate Institutes. Institute Opening: The Institute started in the scholastic year 1996 – 1997.
Institute assignments: It aims at directing educational activity towards specialization, and contribution in preparing human cadres according to accounting and financial work requirements at Ministry of Finance and its subsidiary bodies, as well as public and private sectors. Institute specialization: There are two specializations: 1. Expenditures accounting. 2. Taxes and duties accounting. According to his specialization, the Institute graduate gets certificate of licensed assistant in expenditures accounting or in taxes & duties accounting. Advantages given to the best-averages graduates: Pursuant to the provisions of Decree 20 of 2000, and to Decision of High Education Council No.105 of 2002, 5% of the Institute best-averages graduates can be accepted in colleges of economy in the Syrian universities, in the second year in accounting specialization. Institute Teaching Staff: An elite of doctors and professors, from Damascus University’s colleges and institutes, teaches in the Institute, in addition to specialists from Ministry of Finance and its subsidiary bodies. Acceptance terms in the Institute: 1. Having Secondary School Certificate (scientific division) in the same year. 2. His total degrees in Secondary Certificate is equivalent to the total defined by result of general differentiation announced by Ministry of High Education. Registration terms in the Institute: Student’s registration in the institute is conditioned by realizing the following terms: 1. To have the acceptance terms in the Institute. 2. Not to exceed 25 years old in the acceptance year. 3. To realize health’s terms defined in the instructions issued by the Supreme Council for Intermediate Institutes. 4. To pay the registration fees. 5. Not to be a state worker.
Registration papers: Original Secondary School Certificate (first copy) with three ratified copies. Non-Syrian certificates must be ratified by the competent bodies with translation of foreign documents. Personal civil record or photocopy of the ID card. Accepted Palestinian student must be resident in Syria, after ensuring that any Palestinian accepted in the contest actually resides in Syria. Additional certificate for the non-Syrian students holding Syrian Secondary School Certificate (study succession for secondary school, or photocopy of Syrian preparatory school certificate)
Registration application with SP10 Teachers Syndicate’s stamp glued on it, envelope, 10 personal photographs and one social form. Medical Report (from university’s health department), this can be postponed until the beginning of first term examinations. Attendance in the Institute: Attendance in the institute is obligatory, with no consideration to registration date. Attendance starts on the first day of the annual schedule issued by the Supreme Council for Intermediate Institutes.
