PCB is a public institution established in 1966. Nominal Capital: SP300 millions Paid capital: SP210 millions. Bank’s Branches: Until 1997 there were 57 branches spread in big cities’ quarters and in most regions, there are also 7 branches Under establishment: Al-Orouba–Aleppo, Dreikiche, Hasakeh (limited income), Qameshli (limited income), Yarmouk and Jaramana in Damascus, and Sheikh Badr. Bank’s tasks and objectives: Legislative Decree No.64 of 1966 defined bank’s tasks, but they developed to be as follows: 1. Presenting banking facilities to the following categories: - Limited income category. - Production sectors (merchants, professionals and craftsmen). - Doctors, engineers, lawyers, activities closely related to science, literature and art, as well as high certificates holders and medium institutes’ graduates. - Inventors. - Owners of tourist projects, laboratories, rays-houses and professional, scientific and cultural institutes, as well as, publishing houses and other projects that are not financed by other banks due to their regulations. - Owners of projects authorised under Law (10) of 1991, which are within the bank’s specialisation. - Lately, owners of fridge-transport companies were added. - In addition to all that, the bank finances industrial projects existing in its single branch regions.
2. Accepting all kinds of deposits from individuals, as well as, private and public establishments. 3. Issuing the 3 forms of Investment Bonds (A, B, C). 4.
