How to settle the expatriation duty? 1. if the expatriate is settling the duty for the first time: - present a statement from the department of emigration, specifying all the dates of getting in/out of the country, upon request by the financial authorities.
- calculating the due duties by the competent employee.
- settling the above duties according to the law, and in foreign currency to the Central Bank of Syria.
- the expatriate gets a certified receipt related to the paid duties.
2. If the expatriate has already paid the duty (to the Syrian embassy or to our department): a. present a statement from the department of emigration, specifying all the dates of getting in/out of the country, upon request by the financial authorities. b. arranging a remittance of all the duties due for the past years, to be paid at the Central Bank of Syria. c. fix the paid amounts on the expatriate's card. 3) The transaction exonerating from the expatriation duty: 1. the expatriate submits an application asking to be exonerated. 2. he presents a copy of his passport. 3. provide all support documents, to be studied by the competent employee. 4. the application is referred to the finance manager for approval. 5. send a note stipulating the exoneration, to the emigration department so that the expatriate can renew his/her passport. |
