Yesterday morning on Sunday 15/10/2006, implementing (Escoda World) program has been started in Public Customs Administration, in Jdaydet yabous, Naseeb, Latakia accesses. Where Dr. Basel Omar Sanofeh made a round in al Jdayda access to make sure of the implementing program accuracy, and watch the work mechanism. And how the insertion and extraction of the vehicles is done by the new computerization system that has been adopted in al Jdayda and the other mentioned accesses.
Dr. Sanofeh has been asserted that this mechanism will be generalized during a few weeks, to involve all the Border Customs Houses, therefore that can help to brief more time and effort. And he has been referred to this system as the best one in Syria and the Arab area, and it will help in implementing the whole computerization in Customs Administration. Especially after linking all Directorates and Customs Houses by a central net with the administration.
Dr. Ehab wattar, manager of the national project of Customs computerization and the delegated person of UNDP, has been cleared that the three mentioned borderline centers has linked according to the world program (Escoda World). Where now, a crossing activity of vehicle transit is reordering, by using the computer, and also a temporal insertion of the cars.
This mechanism will be widening to involve all borderline accesses that have been linked by the system’s net. Dr. wattar said that a reserve system has been made to continuing the work in emergency conditions, by preparing a reserve center instead of the main one in Latakia.
The same net has been linked with each of Finance minister, the Customs general director, and the specialized authorities. And the supervision will be by the cameras, and round 24 hours.
During the supervision, a contraband process has been held in Jdaydet yabous and it was easy to recognize the car number.
