The Insurance Supervision Commission and Bahrain Institute for Financial and Banking Studies signed on Saturday a cooperation agreement for training and rehabilitation at the Ministry of Finance.
Dr. Mohammed al-Hussein, Minister of Finance, affirmed the strength of relations between Syria and Bahrain in all fields, particularly in financial and banking, pointing out to the importance of exchanging expertise in enhancing mutual work. Al-Hussein stated that the agreement will provide an opportunity for Syrian youths to be trained for work in the insurance sector and that it will open new horizon for this field in Syria and abroad. The Minister explained that the Insurance Supervision Commission will represent the Bahrain Institute and the Legal Insurance Institute of London, and that the Commission will hold the first training course before the end of August for employees of insurance companies and interested citizens. Chairman of the Insurance Supervision Commission, Abd
Al-Latif Aboud, underlined the importance of this agreement and stated that the Commission will establish a special department for training and rehabilitation next week, pointing out to the experience and reliability of the Bahrain Institute. For his part, Director of Bahrain Institute, Hussein al-Ajami, pointed out that the Institute is one of the oldest of its kind in the region, and that its activities span most Arab countries and South Asia. Al-Ajami stated that the Syrian insurance market has seen remarkable improvement in the past few years, saying that Syria will be able to export insurance cadres rather than export them. He also stated that the Institute would be holding training courses for judges, lawyers, journalists, board members of insurance companies and all workers in the field of insurance.
